Two-time Emmy winner David Harbour and Emmy nominee John Cena have signed on to star in the upcoming comedy "The Family Disappears" produced by Fifth Season and directed by Swedish filmmaker Jonathan Etzler ("Bad Apples", "One More Time") from a script by Brendan O'Hare.
The film follows an overworked dad who returns from a work trip to find his family has disappeared and a mysterious newcomer has bought and moved into their home. Production begins in Atlanta, Georgia on November 10, 2026.
Producers include Nick Weidenfeld via Friends Night and Alexis Garcia through "CAT5", who worked together on the A24 and Fifth Season comedy comedy "Friendship", which starred Tim Robinson and Paul Rudd.
Harbour can next be seen in Courteney Cox's crime thriller "Evil Genius", "Violent Night 2", the dark comedy "Little One" produced by Zach Cregger and Roy Lee, the Marvel flick "Avengers: Doomsday", the prequel "John Rambo", and Fifth Season's "A Head Full of Ghosts".
Cena's next project is the Netflix comedy "One Attempt Remaining", in which he stars opposite Jennifer Garner.
