Matthew Goode Kate Walsh And More Join Indie Drama Hal

The cast for the upcoming indie drama "Hal", from "Ozark" co-creator Mark Williams, has been revealed. The cast now includes Alexander Ludwig, Emma Roberts, Matthew Goode ("Department Q"), Kate Walsh ("Grey's Anatomy"), Taylor John Smith ("Where the Crawdads Sing"), Garret Dillahunt ("No Country for Old Men"), Robert Patrick ("Terminator 2: Judgment Day"), Colm Meaney ("Star Trek: The Next Generation"), Justin Bartha ("The Hangover"), Nicolette Sheridan ("Desperate Housewives"), Maurice Compte ("Narcos"), Kevin Chapman ("Person of Interest"), Ian Bohen ("Yellowstone"), Chris Diamantopoulos ("Silicon Valley"), Jason Kennedy ("E! News"), Robert Treveiler ("The Accountant"), Ernie Hudson, Leslie Bibb, Aidan Quinn and Jeffrey Donovan.

The film is directed by Williams from a script by Mark Edwin Robinson ("I Will Follow You Into the Dark", "Breaking Dawn"), and is inspired by the true story behind the founding of humanitarian organization Convoy of Hope. The story follows Hal Donaldson (Ludwig), a journalist shaped by early hardship who believes his voice is his path forward. When he meets Doree (Roberts), a gifted musician, their relationship becomes the foundation that steadies him as his career takes him to places marked by deep suffering.

As Hal witnesses crisis and inequality firsthand, the line between observing and acting begins to blur. Confronted with the limits of telling stories alone, he is drawn toward a calling that requires more than words — setting in motion the events that lead to the creation of Convoy of Hope. Goode will reportedly play the father of Ludwig's Hal. Other character details are being kept under wraps. The movie was shot in Atlanta and Colombia.

Operating in dozens of countries, they’re recognized for their large-scale disaster relief operations, long-term community development programs, and ability to mobilize public-private partnerships to reach people others cannot.

Emma Roberts To Star In Horror Film A Body In The Woods

Emma Roberts ("American Horror Story", "Scream 4") has signed on to star in the upcoming horror film "A Body in the Woods" which will be produced by Dave Caplan ("Longlegs", "The Monkey"). The film is written and directed by Stephen Cognetti, creator of the "Hell House" franchise. Production is set to begin in September.

Roberts will play Alice Lincoln, a woman at the turn of the century living deep in the Marshall Woods, a place long-plagued by legends of a menacing witch. When Alice is left alone at her remote cabin to keep vigil over the body of an unidentified mine worker, unsettling disturbances in the dark lead Alice to fear the corpse may not be fully at rest. The appearance of a silent woman at the edge of the forest road traps Alice in a waking nightmare between the growing evil within and the nameless terror waiting beyond her door.

Manifest Pictures, the new sales firm from former Miramax and WME Independent executives ZYvette Zhuang and Zach Glueck, will launch international sales at the upcoming European Film Market. C2 Motion Picture Group will fully finance.

Caplan said the following: "Stephen has consistently proven he can create terrifying, elevated immersive horror experiences. With Emma in the lead, A Body in the Woods is an undeniable package".

Writer/director Stephen Cognetti added: "Emma brings an intelligence and emotional fearlessness that amplifies everything she touches. She understands horror on a cellular level—how to balance vulnerability, strength, and terror. My goal with A Body in the Woods is to deliver a high-concept horror film that tests the limits of fear—not just for our lead character, but for the audience sitting in the dark with her. I want people to leave the theater unsettled, questioning what they saw, and feeling like they survived something".

Manifest said in a statement: "We're honored to be working with a producer that has the pedigree of Dave Caplan and a director with a consistent track record of terrifying audiences around the world".

Ariana Grande American Horror Story Season 13

Ariana Grande has joined the cast of the thirteenth season of the long-running FX horror anthology series "American Horror Story" created by Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk. The new season will feature the return of several franchise regulars: Jessica Lange, Sarah Paulson, Evan Peters, Angela Bassett, Kathy Bates, Emma Roberts, Billie Lourd, Gabourey Sidibe and Leslie Grossman.

The new cast was announced via Ryan Murphy Productions' Instagram page. This marks Grande's first television acting role since 2015's "Scream Queens", which was also created by Murphy and Falchuk. For Lange, Bassett, Bates and Sidibe, this will be their first appearance in the show since Season 8 (2018's "Apocalypse"). Peters and Paulson last appeared in Season 10 (2021's "Double Feature").

No plot details are available, although fans have been speculating that the return of so many past stars could mean that the new season might be connected to a story from a previous season. "American Horror Story" Season 13 is set to release next Halloween, October 31, 2026. The title has not been revealed.

Season 12 was titled "Delicate" and concluded last year. It starred Kim Kardashian, Matt Czuchry, Annabelle Dexter-Jones and Cara Delevingne. 20th Television produces "American Horror Story".

Emma Roberts Picture

Emma Roberts ("American Horror Story", "Scream 4") has joined the cast of Sony Pictures' upcoming Marvel superhero movie "Madame Web", which will be directed by S.J. Clarkson ("The Defenders", "Jessica Jones") from a script penned by "Morbius" writers Matt Sazama and Burk Sharpless.

The cast already includes Dakota Johnson in the title role, Sydney Sweeney, Celeste O'Connor, Isabela Merced and Tahar Rahim. Roberts' role in the film is unknown.

In the comics, Madame Web is depicted as an elderly blind woman suffering from a chronic neuromuscular disease that makes it difficult to move and breathe. As such, she's connected to a life support system that looks like a spider web. The clairvoyant character has precognitive abilities and once helped Spider-Man find a kidnap victim.

Roberts recently wrapped production on the romantic comedy "Maybe I Do", in which she stars opposite Diane Keaton, Susan Sarandon and Richard Gere. She is also set to star in the upcoming new season of "American Horror Story".

Emma Roberts Jack Whitehall Sci Fi Comedy Robots

Emma Roberts ("American Horror Story") and UK comedian Jack Whitehall are set to star in the comedy "Robots" co-written and directed by Ant Hines ("Borat" and "Bruno" scribe) based on the short story by sci-fi writer Robert Sheckley.

Roberts and Whitehall star as Elaine and Charles, hustlers who trick people into relationships with illegal robot doubles of themselves. But when they unwittingly use the scam on each other and their robot doubles fall in love and elope, the two are forced to team up to hunt them down before the authorities discover their secret.

Hines adapted the story alongside Capser Christensen ("Klown"). The film is produced by Stephen Hamel ("Passengers") and Cassian Elwes ("Mudbound").

Hamel had the following to say about the project:
"This project combines two of the genres I enjoy the most – sci-fi and comedy. It's outrageously hysterical while providing unexpectedly sweet affirmations of our need for love and connection with each other. If two robots can fall in love, why can’t we!? "The Hunt" is a thriller directed by Craig Zobel ("Z for Zachariah", "Compliance") from a script by "The Leftovers" scribes Nick Cuse and Damon Lindelof.

The film follows 12 strangers who find themselves chosen to be hunted in a game devised by a group of elites. The hunters gather in a remote facility called the Manor House, but their sport is derailed when one of the hunted, Crystal (Betty Gilpin), fights back and starts killing them one by one.

The cast also includes Ike Barinholtz, Emma Roberts, Hilary Swank, Justin Hartley, Amy Madigan, Ethan Suplee, Macon Blair and J.C. MacKenzie.

"The Hunt" was initially scheduled for release on September 27, 2019, but was pushed back following the Dayton and El Paso mass shootings in August 2019, and criticism from U.S. President Donald Trump. It eventually opened in theaters on March 13, 2020.

"UglyDolls" is the first computer animated film from STX Entertainment. Directed by Kelly Asbury ("Shrek 2") from a screenplay by Alison Peck and story by Robert Rodriguez ("Sin City"), the film is based on the series of plush toys created by David Horvath and Sun-Min Kim, and it tells the story of the free-spirited UglyDolls, who are confronted with what it means to be different, struggle with a desire to be loved, and ultimately discover who you truly are is what matters most.

The voice cast features Kelly Clarkson, Nick Jonas, Janelle Monae, Pitbull, Emma Roberts, Gabriel Iglesias, Wanda Sykes, Ice-T, Jane Lynch and Blake Shelton.

The anthology series "American Horror Story" returns with a seventh season subtitled "Cult", which premieres tonight on FX at 10p. The new season will be connected to "Freak Show" but in a modern context and will revolve around the 2016 U.S. election. The first episode will take place during Election Night. Creator Ryan Murphy has confirmed that the new season will not feature supernatural elements.

The cast features veteran members Evan Peters, Sarah Paulson, Adina Porter, Cheyenne Jackson, Frances Conroy, Mare Winningham, Emma Roberts and Chaz Bono. Joining the cast are new additions Leslie Grossman, Colton Haynes, Alison Pill, Billie Lourd, Billy Eichner and Lena Dunham. John Carroll Lynch will reprise the role of Twisty the Clown, a character that appeared in "Freak Show"

"American Horror Story" has been renewed for two more seasons that are scheduled to air in 2018 and 2019.

The horror film "The Blackcoat's Daughter" (originally titled "February") is the directorial debut of writer/director Oz Perkins ("I Am the Pretty Thing That Lives in the House"). The film was completed and premiered at the Toronto Film Festival in 2015, but its U.S. release was pushed back several times.

The film tells the story of two girls, played by Kiernan Shipka and Lucy Boynton, who get left behind at their boarding school over winter break when their parents mysteriously fail to pick them up, and begin to experience increasingly strange and creepy occurrences, while another girl (Emma Roberts) is determined to get to Bramford as fast as she can. Lauren Holly and James Remar also star.

"The Blackcoat's Daughter" opened in theaters on March 31st 2017 and received generally positive reviews.
