The eighth and final season of the spy thriller series "Homeland" created by Howard Gordon and Alex Gansa has premiered on February 9, 2020 on Showtime. Claire Danes returns as bipolar former CIA operative Carrie Mathison, who is recovering from brutal confinement in a Russian gulag. When Saul (Mandy Patinkin) is dispatched to engage the Taliban in Afghanistan peace negotiations, he calls upon Carrie to walk with him into the lion's den one last time.

The Showtime series "Homeland" is back for a 12-episode seventh season that finds former CIA operative Carrie Mathison (Claire Danes) working against the White House when President Keene (Elizabeth Marvel) orders the arrest of 200 intelligence officers, including Saul Berenson (Mandy Patinkin).

The new season also stars Amy Hargreaves, Maury Sterling, F. Murray Abraham, Linus Roache, Jake Weber, Robert Knepper, Dylan Baker and Morgan Spector.

"Homeland" Season 7 premiered on February 11, 2018.

New HOMELAND Season 6 Trailer, Clips and Images

The sixth season of Showtime's "Homeland" premiered on January 15th to a generally mixed response from critics and audiences. But, even though the response hasn't been overwhelmingly positive, it's still one of television's most watched and discussed shows, and there are still eleven more episodes left in this season, so even if it started slowly, it can still pick up the pace.

In the new season, Carrie (Claire Danes) is working with a foundation in New York as an advocate for Muslims living in the US, and is once again in opposition with Saul (Mandy Patinkin), who is still with the CIA. As the first female president, Elizabeth Keane (Elizabeth Marvel), prepares to start her term at the White House, a new conspiracy begins to surface.

The cast also features F. Murray Abraham, Rupert Friend, Patrick Sabongui, J. Mallory McCree, Dominic Fumusa, Hadar Ratzon Rotem and Robert Knepper.

The second episode of "Homeland" Season 6 will air on January 22nd.

HOMELAND Season 6 Trailer and Poster

A new trailer and poster for "Homeland" season 6 have been released online. The new season picks up several months after the events in Berlin and finds Carrie (Claire Danes) living in New York and the plot will focus on the effects of the U.S. presidential election. The entire season will take place between election day and the inauguration.

The show also stars Rupert Friend, Mandy Patinkin, Elizabeth Marvel, K. Mallory McCree, F. Murray Abraham and Robert Knepper.

"Homeland" Season 6 premieres Sunday, January 19th.

2015 Emmy Nominations Announced

The nominations for the 67th Emmy Awards have been announced and HBO leads with an astonishing total of 126 nominations. The dominant series this year is "Game of Thrones" which rounded up an impressive total of 24 nods, followed by "American Horror Story: Freak Show" with 19 nominations, Olive Kitteridge" with 13 and "Mad Men" and "House of Cards" with 11 each.

Among new shows, "Better Call Saul" made a good impression with 7 nods. Other nominees include the usual suspects: "Orange is the New Black", "Homeland", "Modern Family", "Downton Abbey" and "Veep".

"Orphan Black" lead actress Tatiana Maslany finally scored a nomination for her work in season three. Critically acclaimed series "The Americans" continues to be snubbed, while "Hannibal" missed the chance to be snubbed this year because it wasn't eligible due to the late premiere of its third season.

The 2015 Primetime Emmy Awards will be hosted by Andy Samberg on September 20th and will be broadcast live by Fox from the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles.

2015 Screen Actors Guild Nominations Announced

The 2015 Screen Actors Guild nominations have been announced and Alejandro González Iñárritu's "Birdman" is off to a strong start this awards season. The film scored four SAG nominations including Leading Actor (Michael Keaton) and Male Supporting Role (Edward Norton). Close behind, with 3 nominations each, are "Boyhood", "The Imitation Game" and "The Theory of Everything". In the television categories "Modern Family" leads with four nominations and shows like "Boardwalk Empire", "Homeland", "Game of Thrones" and "House of Cards" each received three nominations. The 21st Annual SAG Awards will air on TNT and TBS on Sunday, January 25th at 8pm EST.

TV Trailers: HOMELAND, 12 MONKEYS, DOCTOR WHO

We have some new trailers for the upcoming seasons of three Television Series:

• Homeland - A first look teaser has been released for Season 4 of the highly acclaimed series created by Howard Gordon and Alex Gansa. Claire Danes reprises the role of CIA operative Carrie Mathison and the action in the new season moves to Pakistan. The cast of the new episodes will also include newcomers Corey Stoll ("House of Lies") and Suraj Sharma ("Life of Pi") alongside series veterans Mandy Patinkin and Rupert Friend. Season 4 premieres on Showtime Sunday, October 5th.
  
  
• 12 Monkeys - Based on Terry Gilliam's classic 1995 sci-fi which starred Bruce Willis and Brad Pitt, this new Syfy television series follows the adventures of a time traveler (Aaron Stanford) from a post-apocalyptic future who arrives in the present on a mission to find and destroy the source of a deadly plague that will eradicate all human life. The series also stars Kirk Acevedo, Amanda Schull, Zeljko Ivanek and Noah Bean. "12 Monkeys" premieres on Syfy in January 2015.
  
  
• Doctor Who - The eighth season of BBC's "Doctor Who" will feature a new Doctor, who will be played by Peter Capaldi ("In The Loop"). The new season will also star Jenna Coleman and Catrin Stewart. Series eight will debut on BBC, August 23rd in the UK and the US.

New Season Trailers for HOMELAND, AMERICAN HORROR STORY: COVEN and MASTERS OF SEX

New trailers have been released for the upcoming seasons of the TV series "Homeland", "American Horror Story: Coven" and "Masters of Sex".

• Season 3 of "Homeland" premieres on Showtime Sunday, September 29th and stars Damian Lewis, Claire Danes, Mandy Patinkin and Rupert Friend.

New Season Trailers for HOMELAND, BREAKING BAD and SHERLOCK

The first teaser trailers have been released for the upcoming seasons of the TV series "Homeland", "Breaking Bad" and "Sherlock". The third season of Showtime's "Homeland" premieres on September 29th. Season 3 of BBC's "Sherlock" will air first in the UK this fall, followed by the US in 2014. For AMC's "Breaking Bad" the final eight episodes will premiere on August 11th.

2013 Producers and Screen Actors Guild Awards Winners

Both the Producers Guild and the Screen Actors Guild announced the winners and it seems that the Oscar chances for Ben Affleck's "Argo" have increased dramatically. The true story drama won the PGA award for Best Picture and the SAG award for Outstanding Performance by a Cast in a Motion Picture. "Argo" has already secured the Golden Globe for Best Motion Picture (Drama) and Best Director, so Affleck's third directorial outing is currently the favorite for the Best Picture Oscar, although Affleck himself has not been nominated for the Best Director award by the Academy. The only other picture in Oscar history to win Best Picture without a nomination for Best Director was "Driving Miss Daisy" in 1990. Other PGA winners include "Homeland", "Game Change" and "Modern Family" while the actors who took home trophies from the Screen Actors Guild include Daniel Day-Lewis, Jennifer Lawrence, Tommy Lee Jones and Anne Hathaway

2012 Emmy Awards Winners: HOMELAND, MODERN FAMILY and GAME CHANGE Win Big

The winners of the 2012 Primetime Emmy Awards have been announced and the big winners are "Homeland" (6 wins out of 9 nominations) and "Modern Family" (5 wins out of 14 nominations). The latter has won the award for Outstanding Comedy Series for a third consecutive year. "Homeland" was something of a surprise hit, bringing home the awards for Outstanding Drama Series, Outstanding Casting for a Drama Series, Lead Actor (Damian Lewis), Lead Actress (Claire Danes) and Outstanding Writing in a Drama Series (for the Pilot episode). Add the two Golden Globes that the series won at the beginning of this year and the expectations for the upcoming season have just blown the roof off.

On the other hand, "Modern Family" was something of a sure thing. The comedy series won, besides the Best Series award, Outstanding Directing in a Comedy Series, Supporting Actor (Eric Stonestreet) and Supporting Actress (Julie Bowen). For Stonestreet and Bowen this is their second win in the supporting category.

Other Emmy winners include Julia Louis-Dreyfus for "Veep", Jon Cryer for "Two and a Half Men", Aaron Paul for "Breaking Bad", Maggie Smith for "Downton Abbey" and Jessica Lange for her insanely delicious/creepy supporting turn in "American Horror Story".

In the miniseries category, the HBO political drama "Game Change" won 5 major awards, including the awards for Outstanding Miniseries, Directing (Jay Roach), Writing and Lead Actress (Julianne Moore). Tied with "Game Change", but lacking in major awards, is "Hatfields & McCoys", which took home 3 technical awards (Editing, Makeup and Sound Mixing) as well as Outstanding Lead Actor (Kevin Costner) and Supporting Actor (Tom Berenger).

2012 Emmy Nominations (Complete List)

The 2012 Emmy Nominations are in and they offer no real major surprises, as most of last year's award-friendly TV shows such as "Boardwalk Empire", "The Good Wife", "Modern Family", "Mad Men", "Game of Thrones", "Downton Abbey" and "Breaking Bad" have earned multiple noms across most categories (full list below). The new series debuting this year at the Emmys are "Homeland" and "American Horror Story", the latter being nominated in the TV Miniseries category alongside "Luther", which earned Idris Elba an Emmy nomination and a Golden Globe Award last year.

"Modern Family" is one of the biggest hits out there at the moment, earning no less than 8 major nominations and sweeping the acting categories, where pretty much the entire cast earned a nomination. Last year, the series took home the award for Outstanding Comedy Series and became one of the rare comedy shows to earn this honor two years in a row (ABC's second since "Taxi"). Will they go for lucky three and break the all-time record ?

2012 Writers Guild Awards Winners

The Writers Guild Awards winners have been announced and it sets the record straight when it comes to predicting who will win the screenplay Oscars on the 26th of February. Contrary to what you might expect, "The Artist" did not win the WGA award, mainly because it wasn't even nominated. Yeah, a shocker, I know. The Guild's award for Original Screenplay went to Woody Allen for "Midnight in Paris". The other nominees in the category were : "50/50", "Bridesmaids", "Win Win" and "Young Adult". In the Adapted Screenplay category, Alexander Payne, Nat Faxon and Jim Rash won for "The Descendants". This category featured some stiff competition as well : "The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo", "The Help", "Hugo", and "Moneyball". The television writing awards included sure-bet winners, like "Modern Family" (two awards), but also some surprises : "Breaking Bad" and "Homeland" each won two awards and actually shared the award in one of the categories (Episodic Drama).
