Camron Jones to Play Tupac Shakur in Universal's Snoop Dogg Biopic

Camron Jones ("P-Valley", "Panic") has joined the cast of Universal's upcoming Snoop Dogg biopic "Snoop" directed by Craig Brewer ("Hustle and Flow", "Song Sung Blue") from his own rewrite of Joe Robert Cole's ("Black Panther") original script.

The film has been described as the "definitive biopic of the entertainment mogul and icon", and Jonathan Daviss ("Outer Banks") is set to star as Snoop Dogg. Jones has signed on to play iconic rapper Tupac Shakur. Tupac and Snoop both recorded for Death Row Records, and remained close friends until the former's death in 1996.

The cast also includes Lauren London (Without Remorse", "ATL") as Snoop's late mother Beverly Tate, and Myles Bullock Be as Dr. Dre, who discovered Snoop and produced his debut studio album "Doggystyle".

"Snoop" will be released in theaters on August 6, 2027.

Snoop Dogg is producing alongside Imagine Entertainment's Brian Grazer ("8 Mile"), Allan Mandelbaum and Death Row Pictures president Sara Ramaker. The film is the first project under Death Row Pictures' overall deal with NBCUniversal Entertainment & Studios. Senior VP of production development Ryan Jones and director of development Tony Ducret will oversee the project for the studio.

Jones can next be seen in the third season of Starz's "P-Valley".
