Jane Levy Joins Jake Johnson and Keith David in NBC's New Comedy Pilot

Golden Globe-nominee Jane Levy ("Zoey's Extraordinary Playlist", "Evil Dead", "Don't Breathe") has joined the cast of NBC's new untitled half-hour single-camera comedy from "Brooklyn Nine-Nine" co-creator and executive producer Dan Goor and executive producer Luke Del Tredici. The cast also includes Jake Johnson and Keith David. Akiva Schaffer ("The Naked Gun") is set to direct and executive produce the pilot.

The show is a workplace comedy set in the world of private detectives, which "continues the proud tradition of Los Angeles private eyes that began with Philip Marlowe and will end with this show". It centers on Mickey Wilder (Johnson), a former LAPD cop turned PI. David will play his boss, Garner Taggert, who runs the Garner Taggart PI Agency, where his son Mitch and Mickey are the main PIs. He's a tough guy with somewhat antiquated views of the world.

Levy will play Faye, who is smart, resourceful, and a force of nature. Faye is a whip-smart investigative journalist.

In an anticipation of a greenlight, Universal Television applied for a tax break, which was granted. The comedy received a $1.4 million tax credit from the California Film Commission to shoot the pilot in Los Angeles. Casting is done by Bialy/Thomas & Associates. Goor and Del Tredici are writers and executive producers.

Pamela Anderson Joins Liam Neeson in THE NAKED GUN Reboot

Pamela Anderson has joined the cast of Paramount Pictures' upcoming untitled "Naked Gun" reboot. The film will be directed by Akiva Schaffer, best know as one of the three members of The Lonely Island, and the director of "Chip 'n Dale: Rescue Rangers". The original spoof, written and directed by Jerry Zucker, Jim Abrahams and David Zucker was based on their television series "Police Squad!"

Anderson is playing the love interest in the movie, a role Priscilla Presley played in the original. Liam Neeson will play clueless detective Frank Drebin, the role originated by Leslie Nielsen. Other plot details are being kept under wraps

The screenplay is penned by "Rescue Rangers" writers Dan Gregor and Doug Mand. Seth MacFarlane ("Family Guy", "Ted") is also producing the reboot alongside Erica Huggins via their Fuzzy Door banner. Daniel M. Stillman will executive produce.

The release date has been set for July 18, 2025.

"Chip 'n Dale: Rescue Rangers" is a live-action/animated film directed by Akiva Schaffer ("Popstar: Never Stop Never Stopping") from a script by Dan Gregor ("Crazy Ex-Girlfriend") and Doug Mand ("Dolittle"). The film features the voices of John Mulaney, Andy Samberg, Will Arnett, Eric Bana, Keegan-Michael Key, Seth Rogen, J.K. Simmons and KiKi Layne. The comedy "Popstar: Never Stop Never Stopping" opens in theaters today, so here are four new clips.

The reviews for the movie have been generally positive. The first Lonely Island feature film received praise for updating the rock mockumentary for the current century. It's got that rare biting satire that few films manage to successfully deliver. Also, it features an amazing comedic performance by Andy Samberg in the best role of his career.

Directed by Akiva Schaffer ("Hot Rod") and Jorma Taccone ("MacGruber"), the film stars Andy Samberg, Imogen Poots, Bill Hader, Maya Rudolph, Martin Sheen, Sarah Silverman, Tim Meadows, Will Forte, Will Arnett and Joan Cusack.

POPSTAR: NEVER STOP NEVER STOPPING Trailers, Music Videos, Images and Posters

Universal has released two official trailers (green-band and red-band), two music videos and a batch of images and posters for the upcoming comedy "Popstar: Never Stop Never Stopping".

Directed by Akiva Schaffer ("Hot Rod") and Jorma Taccone ("MacGruber"), and produced by Judd Apatow, the film stars Andy Samberg as singer/rapper Conner4Real, who faces a crisis of popularity after his sophomore album flops, leaving his fans, sycophants and rivals all wondering what to do when he’s no longer the dopest star of all. The film also stars Imogen Poots, Bill Hader, Maya Rudolph, Martin Sheen, Sarah Silverman, Tim Meadows, Will Forte, Will Arnett, Joan Cusack and a lot of celebrity cameos.

Samberg, Schaffer and Taccone form the comedy trio known as "The Lonely Island" which contributed independently produced sketches for "Saturday Night Live", known as the SNL Digital Shorts.
