Jane Levy Joins Jake Johnson and Keith David in NBC's New Comedy Pilot

Golden Globe-nominee Jane Levy ("Zoey's Extraordinary Playlist", "Evil Dead", "Don't Breathe") has joined the cast of NBC's new untitled half-hour single-camera comedy from "Brooklyn Nine-Nine" co-creator and executive producer Dan Goor and executive producer Luke Del Tredici. The cast also includes Jake Johnson and Keith David. Akiva Schaffer ("The Naked Gun") is set to direct and executive produce the pilot.

The show is a workplace comedy set in the world of private detectives, which "continues the proud tradition of Los Angeles private eyes that began with Philip Marlowe and will end with this show". It centers on Mickey Wilder (Johnson), a former LAPD cop turned PI. David will play his boss, Garner Taggert, who runs the Garner Taggart PI Agency, where his son Mitch and Mickey are the main PIs. He's a tough guy with somewhat antiquated views of the world.

Levy will play Faye, who is smart, resourceful, and a force of nature. Faye is a whip-smart investigative journalist.

In an anticipation of a greenlight, Universal Television applied for a tax break, which was granted. The comedy received a $1.4 million tax credit from the California Film Commission to shoot the pilot in Los Angeles. Casting is done by Bialy/Thomas & Associates. Goor and Del Tredici are writers and executive producers.

ATROPIA (2025) - Trailer, Images and Poster

"Atropia" is a satirical war drama written and directed by Hailey Gates in her feature directorial debut produced by Luca Guadagnino ("Challengers", "Call Me By Your Name"). The film follows an aspiring actress working on a U.S. military base that simulates an Iraqi war zone. The cast includes Alia Shawkat, Callum Turner, Zahra Alzubaidi, Tony Shawkat, Jane Levy, Tim Heidecker, Lola Kirke, and Chloë Sevigny. "Atropia" opened in select theaters on December 12, 2025 and on February 27 it was released via streaming.

"A Little Prayer" is a drama written and directed by Angus MacLachlan ("Junebug") that stars David Strathairn, Jane Levy, Dascha Polanco, Will Pullen, Anna Camp and Celia Weston.

The film premiered at the 2023 Sundance Film Festival, but due to the Writers Guild of America strike, it couldn't secure a deal with Sony for distribution. In 2025, the rights for the film were acquired by Music Box Films, and it received a limited theatrical release on August 29th. It was released on digital platforms on October 7, 2025.

Permeated with a sense of foreboding and dread, the haunting small town of Castle Rock is not willing to let Henry leave. Aside from now having to deal with the strange young man found in the prison, Henry is faced with the fact that his adoptive mother (Sissy Spacek, Carrie), who lives in Castle Rock with retired Sheriff Alan Pangborn (special guest star Scott Glenn), is struggling with the onset of dementia. Reluctantly, Henry stays to figure out just who "The Kid" is and how he wound up imprisoned under such appalling circumstances.

The series is set in King's multiverse and it combines the mythological scale and intimate character storytelling of the author's best-loved works, weaving an epic saga of darkness and light, played out on a few square miles of Maine woodland. Castle Rock is a fictional Maine town featured in several of King's novels, novellas and short stories, including "Cujo", "Rita Hayworth and The Shawshank Redemption", "It" and "Needful Things".

The series stars André Holland, Melanie Lynskey, Bill Skarsgard, Jane Levy, Sissy Spacek, Scott Glenn, Terry O'Quinn, Frances Conroy, Noel Fisher, Allison Tolman and Josh Cooke. King and J.J. Abrams serve as executive-producers on the series.

"Castle Rock" premiered on July 25, 2018 via Hulu. The show has received generally positive reviews from critics.

THERE'S... JOHNNY ! Series Trailer and Images

"There's...Johnny!" is a period drama series created by actor Paul Reiser and former "Mad About You" writer David Steven Simon. The show is set in 1972 and follows 19-year-old Andy Klavin (Ian Nelson) who joins The Tonight Show as a gofer. The cast also includes Jane Levy, Tony Danza, David Hoffman and Andrew Schulz. Part of the series is directed by David Gordon Green ("Pineapple Express").

"There's...Johnny!" was originally set to premiere on the now defunct service Seeso, but eventually moved to Hulu, where it premieres today, November 16th, 2017.

New MONSTER TRUCKS Trailer, Featurettes, Clips, Images and Posters

"Monster Trucks" is an action comedy that stars Lucas Till ("MacGyver") as a high school senior desperate to get away from the life and town he was born into, so he builds a monster truck from whatever spare parts he can scrounge from scrapped cars. He gets some unexpected help from a mysterious creature that was displaced from a nearby oil-drilling site by an accident.

Directed by Chris Wedge ("Ice Age") from a script by Derek Connolly ("Jurassic World"), the film also stars Jane Levy, Barry Pepper, Thomas Lennon, Amy Ryan, Danny Glover, Frank Whaley, Samara Weaving, Tucker Albrizzi and Rob Lowe.

"Monster Trucks" opened in theaters on January 13th to mostly negative reviews and modest box-office results, grossing $10.5 million in its opening weekend versus an estimated $125 million production budget. In September, 2016, it was reported that Paramount will be taking a $115 million writedown on the film due to expected poor box-office performances. Looks like they were right.

"Don't Breathe" is a new horror film from director Fede Alvarez ("Evil Dead") which stars Jane Levy, Dylan Minnette and Daniel Zovatto as three friends who decide to break into the house of a wealthy blind man, hoping to score the perfect heist. The only problem is that the blind man isn't so helpless after all and the three find themselves fighting for survival. "Don't Breathe" is now in theaters.

Paramount has released the first trailer for their sci-fi action comedy "Monster Trucks".

Directed by Chris Wedge ("Ice Age"), the film stars Lucas Till as a high school senior who discovers a subterranean creature with a taste for speed that he uses to power his home-made monster truck. Believe me when I tell you that the movie's title is as literal as it gets.

The film also stars Jane Levy, Holt McCallany, Barry Pepper, Tucker Albrizzi, Danny Glover, Amy Ryan, Rob Lowe, Frank Whaley, and Thomas Lennon.

"Monster Trucks" opens in theaters on January 13, 2017.

2 New Movie Clips for the EVIL DEAD Remake

Today we have more distrubing clips from the "Evil Dead" remake directed by Fede Alvarez. The first is a red band clip, so proceed with caution. It's very, very violent and gory (see the image above). The second clip is more focused on suspense, as Jane Levy confesses that there's some unseen entity stalking her. It's too soon to make any real judgement on the film, since the clips only show the same violence and dialogue that we've seen in countless other horror movies, but the early buzz has been positive, so there's a good chance that the remake will live up to, or even surpass the original. The remake stars Jane Levy, Shiloh Fernandez, Elizabeth Blackmore, Lou Taylor Pucci and Jessica Lucas. "Evil Dead" opens on April 5, 2013.

New EVIL DEAD Movie Clip and Preview

We have the first movie clip for the "Evil Dead" remake and it's certainly a tame preview compared to the gore-fest that the early reviews have announced. So far the reactions have been positive and those hoping for the violence to go way over the top, well, you're in for a treat. The other preview is a WonderCon Announcement trailer. It doesn't contain any new footage, but the editing and the sound effects are really great. The remake is directed by Fede Alvarez and stars Jane Levy, Shiloh Fernandez, Elizabeth Blackmore, Lou Taylor Pucci and Jessica Lucas. "Evil Dead" opens on April 5, 2013.
