Connie Nielsen & Stana Katic Join Wyatt Russell in Apple's New Monsterverse Series

Connie Nielsen ("Gladiator", "Wonder Woman") and Stana Katic ("Castle", "Absentia") are the most recent additions to the cast of Legendary's new Apple TV Monsterverse series. The cast is led by Wyatt Russell ("Monarch: Legacy of Monsters"), who also executive produces. Russell reprises his role from "Monarch: Legacy of Monsters". In that show, Russell's father Kurt Russell played an older version of the character.

The series follows the story of Col. Lee Shaw (Russell), an American operative who, in 1984, went on a secret mission behind enemy lines in an attempt to stop the Soviets from unleashing a horrific new Titan big enough to destroy the U.S. and turn the tide of the Cold War.

The cast also includes Millie Brady, Pilou Asbaek, Corey Stoll, Ralph Ineson and Nyasha Hatendi. Character details are under wraps. Joby Harold is the showrunner.

Legendary's Monsterverse is an "expansive cross-platform story universe centered on humanity's battle to survive in a world facing a catastrophic new reality: the monsters of myths and legends are real". The franchise started in 2014 with "Godzilla", and also includes "Kong: Skull Island" (2017), "Godzilla: King of the Monsters" (2019), "Godzilla vs. Kong" (2021), "Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire" (2024), and the upcoming sequel "Godzilla x Kong: Supernova" (2027).

Harold and Tory Tunnell executive produce for Safehouse Pictures alongside Russell, Chris Black, Kyle Bradstreet, Alex Boden, Dillard, Andy Goddard and James Skotchdopoloe. Hiro Matsuoka and Takemasa Arita executive produce on behalf of Toho Co.

"Murder in a Small Town" is a new Canadian mystery drama series created by Ian Weir based on the "The Alberg and Cassandra Mysteries" by L.R. Wright. The third season of the thriller series "Absentia" has premiered on July 17, 2020 on Amazon Prime Video. The new season picks up three months after the end of season two and it finds Emily Byrne (Stana Katic) nearing the end of her suspension from the FBI. But a new criminal case hits close to home, sending Emily on a dangerous journey that threatens the lives of the family she is desperately trying to hold together. The cast also includes Patrick Heusinger, Neil Jackson, Paul Freeman and Christopher Colquhoun.

The second season of the thriller series "Absentia" has premiered on July 2, 2019 on AXN. Created by Gaia Violo and Matt Cirulnick, the show stars Stana Katic as FBI agent Emily Byrne who disappears without a trace while hunting one of Boston's most notorious serial killers, and is declared dead in absentia. Six years later, she is found in a cabin in the woods, barely alive and with no memory of the years that she was missing. The new season finds Emily struggling to reconnect with her son and seeking out the truth of her missing time with the help of Boston police detective Tommy Gibbs (Angel Bonanni).

"The Possession of Hannah Grace" is a horror film directed by Diederik Van Rooijen ("Daylight", "Taped") from a screenplay by Brian Sieve ("Teen Wolf"). Shay Mitchell stars as a troubled ex-cop who takes the graveyard shift in a city hospital morgue and must confront an evil entity that has possessed one of the corpses. Kirby Johnson, Stana Katic, Grey Damon and Nick Thune co-star.

"The Possession of Hannah Grace" opened in theaters on November 30, 2018 and received mostly negative reviews from critics.

The show stars Stana Katic ("Castle") as an FBI agent who disappears without a trace and is declared dead while searching for a serial killer. She is found six years later in a cabin in the woods, barely alive, with no memory of what happened while she was missing, and suspected of involvement in a string of murders.

The cast also includes Patrick Heusinger, Cara Theobold, Neil Jackson, Angel Bonanni, Bruno Bichir, Patrick McAuley and Paul Freeman.

"Absentia" premieres the entire 10-episode first season today, February 2, 2018, via Amazon.
