Weekend Box Office: YOU CAN SEE EVERYTHING Takes Down CLAYFACE Over Slow Halloween Weekend

Weekend Box Office You Can See Everything Top Spot Clayface Halloween

In its third weekend, the A24 documentary "You Can See Everything" continues to break records as it squeaked by the DC horror movie "Clayface" to take the top spot over an uneventful Halloween weekend with no new major releases.

"You Can See Everything" conquered the box office charts in its third weekend with $11.4 million, which is a soft 38.9% decline from its previous frame. The film also added another 588 theaters, and can now be seen on a total of 3,243 screens, making it the fourth documentary ever to appear in over 3,000 theaters nationwide. The top three are one Michael Jackson and two Taylor Swift concert movies. "You Can See Everything" is also the first non-concert documentary to take the top spot at the box office since Michael Moore's "Fahrenheit 9/11" in 2004. Nathan Fielder and Lance Oppenheim's three-hour doc has now grossed a total of $64.7 million domestically, ranking third among non-concert documentaries, behind "Fahrenheit 9/11" ($119.1 million) and 2005's "March of the Penguins" ($77.4 million).

"Clayface" finished its second weekend in second place with $11 million from 3,478 theaters, which is a decent 54.2% drop. Not bad for a horror film. The film has now grossed a total of $44.6 million domestically and $38.9 million internationally. That's a worldwide total of $83.5 million against a budget of $44 million. Marketing costs are estimated at around $40 million, which puts its break-even point at around $90 million.

Laika's stop motion animated epic "Wildwood" is holding in third place in its sophomore frame with $8.9 million. After a catastrophic opening weekend, the film only dropped 27% in its second weekend. The domestic total has reached $27.3 million. Overseas it adds another $25.9 million for a worldwide cume of $53.2 million. The film cost $100 million to produce before marketing costs, which I don't think it can recoup.

The fantasy romance "Wicker" is also enjoying a healthy second weekend, climbing from #5 to #4 with $4.3 million. That's a very soft 24.1% drop as it also added another 903 screens. The film has grossed a total of $13.5 million in North America and $3.1 million from foreign markets. Since it only cost $10 million to produce, and I doubt they spent too much on marketing, it could turn out to be a modest hit.

The Top 5 is rounded out by the video game adaptation "Street Fighter" with $3.6 million. The film suffered a surprisingly steep 57.4% drop in its third weekend, after dropping 72% in its sophomore frame. The domestic cume is now at $53.4 million, while internationally it grossed $38.9 million. The worldwide total is now at $92.3 million against a $82 million budget. The film's break-even point is estimated to be at around $150-160 million, which it won't be able to reach.
