As the Allies make their final push in the European Theatre, a battle-hardened army sergeant named Wardaddy commands a Sherman tank and his five-man crew on a deadly mission behind enemy lines. Box-Office: OUIJA Scares Its Way to the Top, JOHN WICK Surprising Debut

It's hard to compete with a horror film in the pre-Halloween weekend, which is why "Ouija" had little competition this week. The PG-13 flick earned $20 million in its first three days and it could continue its solid run throughout the Halloween weekend.

However, the High Achiever of the Week Award belongs to "John Wick", Keanu Reeves's highly acclaimed return to action form. The film opened in second place with $14 million, a modest sum, but more than was initially predicted. While the film didn't have much of a publicity campaign, it did receive plenty of glowing reviews and it's currently rated 8,3 on IMdB.com, which could translate to a solid word-of-mouth advantage in the following week, as opposed to "Ouija" which is scored 4,3 on the same website.

"Fury" maintained a solid second week in third place, earning another $13 million this weekend, which brings its domestic total to $46 million, not a lot when compared to its $68 million budget. "Gone Girl" follows close behind with $11 million. David Fincher's thriller is enjoying a more comfortable box-office performance with a worldwide total of $242 million split roughly even between domestic and foreign markets.

The top 5 is rounded up by "The Book of Life" which only fell 29% from the previous weekend, raising another $9.8 million for a $29.9 million domestic total.

5 New FURY Posters Featuring Brad Pitt, Shia LaBeouf and Logan Lerman

David Ayer's "Fury" is now in theaters and has already made its mark at the box-office ranking first in its opening weekend, although the domestic profits are not exactly spectacular. Which is probably why the publicity campaign for the movie is still going. Today we have five new character posters featuring the actors playing the crew of the titular tank: Brad Pitt, Shia LaBeouf, Logan Lerman, Michael Pena and Jon Bernthal. The film also stars Jason Isaacs, Anamaria Marinca, Xavier Samuel and Jim Parrack.

Box-Office: FURY Marches Past GONE GIRL with $23 Million Debut

The World War II actioner "Fury" starring Brad Pitt and a strong ensemble cast opened with $23 million this weekend, while "Gone Girl" eventually dropped to second place, although Fincher's mystery thriller is still going pretty strong and very close to becoming the director's highest-grossing film if it manages to surpass "The Curious Case of Benjamin Button". Meanwhile, this week's other wide releases, 20th Century Fox's animated fantasy "The Book of Life" opened with $17 million for a third-place ranking, and the Nicholas Sparks adaptation "The Best of Me" took fifth place in the top 10 with $10 million, an all time-low for films based on the author's books ("Dear John" opened with $30.5 million).

Six new clips have been released for David Ayer's "Fury". The film stars Brad Pitt as Wardaddy, commander of a Sherman tank and its crew played by Shia LaBeouf, Logan Lerman, Michael Pena and Jon Bernthal. The first theatrical trailer and poster for David Ayer's WWII action drama "Fury" have been released. The film follows battle-hardened army sergeant Wardaddy (Brad Pitt) and his five-man tank crew as they carry out deadly missions behind enemy lines. Their tank is appropriately named Fury. The cast also features Shia LaBeouf, Logan Lerman, Michael Pena, Jon Bernthal and Jason Isaacs.

"Fury" opens in theaters November 14th.

Today we have the first footage from director David Ayer's WWII action drama "Fury". The video, containing a mix of scenes from the film as well as interviews and behind-the-scenes footage, was shown at this year's E3 at Wargaming.net's "World of Tanks" panel. The film follows battle-hardened army sergeant Wardaddy (Brad Pitt) as he commands a Sherman tank and her five-man crew on a deadly mission behind enemy lines. Shia LaBeouf, Logan Lerman, Michael Pena, Jon Bernthal and Jason Isaacs also star.
