Kevin Spacey To Lead WWII Drama MELODIES IN THE FOREST

Kevin Spacey is set to lead the upcoming WWII drama "Melodies in the Forest" written and directed by Roberto Lippolis ("The Cat & The Moon"). Spacey will star as Petr Novotni, an 85-year-old world-renowned conductor whose buried wartime past violently resurfaces. The cast also includes John Savage ("The Deer Hunter"), Vincent Spano ("Rumble Fish"), Antonella Salvucci, Andrea Bruschi, Danny Kamensky, Riccardo Campione, Casper Kellndorfer and Enzo Storico.

Principal photography on the project is set to begin in October across Italy and the Czech Republic. Here is the official synopsis: "When celebrated conductor Petr Novotni is abducted during a routine walk, he recognises his captor as Yosef — a Jewish composer he encountered in Terezín in 1942. As investigators close in, Novotni’s children discover a hidden memoir that rewrites everything they believed about their father, forcing a reckoning with guilt, complicity, and the cost of survival."

The project is produced by Ventitre SRL in co-production with Pink Flamingo Media Group. Blue Eyes Film and Distribution has acquired worldwide sales rights and will introduce the project to international buyers at the Cannes Market. Lippolis also executive produces alongside Enzo Storico for Ventitre SRL, and Jayney Mackie for Pink Flamingo Media Group. Worldwide sales were negotiated by Michael Cowan of Blue Eyes Film and Ivan Perciballi of Xlegion, who also serves as executive producer.

Executive producer Michael Cowan, who is associated with Blue Eyes Film, has described the project as an "extraordinary story grounded in documented history", with a "cast and creative team that can carry it to the widest possible audience". He also said that the project is "one of our most significant acquisitions to date".

Kevin Spacey Joins Cast of Conspiracy Thriller THE AWAKENING

Kevin Spacey has joined the cast of the upcoming conspiracy action-thriller "The Awakening". Directed by Matt Routledge from a script co-written with Justin Tinto and Matt Hookings, the film also stars Peter Stormare (Fargo", "Constantine", "Armageddon"), Alice Eve ("Star Trek Into Darkness"), Steve Berkoff ("The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo"), Julian Glover ("Indiana Jones & the Last Crusade"), Matt Hookings ("Prizefighter"), former World's Strongest Man Eddie Hall ("Expendables 4") and Tinto.

The film follows Jason (Tinto) and Rebecca (Eve) as they uncover a conspiracy to control the world. Their investigation leads them into a maze of secrets, making their quest to expose the truth in a thrilling race against time.

Behind the camera, heads of department include editor Chris Gill (Kneecap", "28 Days Later"), director of photography Laszlo Bille ("Blade Runner 2049", "Dune: Part One") and stunt coordinator Luke Tumber ("Mission Impossible: Dead Reckoning Part One", "Venom: The Last Dance").

Pia Patatian's Cloud9 Studios launched worldwide sales in Cannes. The film is being produced by Camelot Films who also financed the movie alongside Tinto. Hookings also produces alongside Tim Kent, while executive producers are Tinto, Sally Woodward, Adrian Goodisman, and Patatian.

The fact-based crime thriller "All the Money in the World" chronicles the kidnapping of 16-year-old John Paul Getty III (Charlie Plummer) by organized crime Mafia group 'Ndrangheta in 1973 and the infamous refusal by billionaire grandfather Jean Paul Getty (Christopher Plummer) to pay the ransom. The film also focuses on the efforts of devoted mother Gail (Michelle Williams) and Getty's enigmatic security man (Mark Wahlberg) to rescue the boy. Romain Duris, Timothy Hutton, Andrew Buchan and Andrea Piedimonte Bodini co-star.

Ridley Scott ("Gladiator", "Black Hawk Down") directs the film from a script written by David Scarpa ("The Last Castle") based on the 1995 book Painfully Rich: The Outrageous Fortune and Misfortunes of the Heirs of J. Paul Getty by John Pearson.

The film drew attention even before its release when Kevin Spacey, who originally played Jean Paul Getty, was recast after several sexual misconduct allegations had been levelled against him. Things worked out well for Scott, since Plummer was the director's original choice for the role, so the recasting process was lightning fast. The reshoots lasted nine days and were conducted a month prior to the film's release. Plummer picked up Oscar, Golden Globe and BAFTA nominations for Best Supporting Actor. The film also received two other Golden Globe nominations for Best Director and Actress (Michelle Williams).

"All the Money in the World" opened in limited release on December 18, 2017 and expanded nationwide on December 25th. The film grossed $39.1 million worldwide against a $50 million budget.

BABY DRIVER Trailers, Clips, Featurettes, Images and Posters

Written and directed by Edgar Wright ("Shaun of the Dead", "Scott Pilgrim vs. the World"), the music-driven thriller "Baby Driver" stars Ansel Elgort as a young getaway driver who relies on his own preferred music to keep him focused and is forced to pull off heists for a crime boss (Kevin Spacey) in order to pay off an old debt. Things take a turn for the worse when a doomed heist threatens his life, love and freedom.

The film also stars Lily James, Jamie Foxx, Jon Hamm, Jon Bernthal, Eiza Gonzalez, Lanny Joon and CJ Jones. The soundtrack was released by Columbia Records and features Blur, Run the Jewels, Sky Ferreira, Jon Spencer Blues Explosion, Queen and more.

"Baby Driver" opened in theaters on June 28th, 2017. It received generally positive reviews from critics who praised it as one of the most entertaining action films of the year. It was also a hit at the box-office, opening with $30 million in five days versus a $34 million budget.

HOUSE OF CARDS Season 5 Trailers, Images and Poster

The fifth season of the Netflix series "House of Cards" is now available for streaming. The series continues the political adventures of Francis Underwood (Kevin Spacey) and his equally machiavellian wife (Robin Wright). Series creator Beau Willimon is no longer the showrunner, and he was replaced by writers and producers Melissa James Gibson and Frank Pugliese.

The new season also adds Patricia Clarkson ("The Green Mile") and Campbell Scott ("The Amazing Spider-Man") to the cast. Michael Kelly, Paul Sparks, Neve Campbell, Joel Kinnaman, Colm Feore and Dominique McElligott co-star.

"House of Cards" Season 5 was released on May 30th, 2017.

Written and directed by Edgar Wright ("Scott Pilgrim vs. the World"), the film tells the story of a young getaway driver (Ansel Elgort) who relies on the beat of his personal soundtrack to be the best in the game, but finds his life, love and freedom threatened when his boss coerces him into a heist that is doomed to fail

The film also stars Kevin Spacey, Lily James, Jon Bernthal, Eiza González, Jon Hamm and Jamie Foxx.

Amazon Studios has released the official trailer, clips, images and posters for the comedy "Elvis and Nixon" which opens in theaters today.

Directed by Liza Johnson ("Return"), the film tells the untold true story behind Elvis Presley's (Michael Shannon) meeting with President Nixon (Kevin Spacey) in the Oval Office which was forever immortalized in the most requested photograph in the National Archives.

The film also stars Alex Pettyfer, Johnny Knoxville, Colin Hanks, Evan Peters, Sky Ferreira, Tracy Letts, Ashley Benson and Tate Donovan.

Directed by Barry Sonnenfeld ("Men in Black"), the film stars Kevin Spacey as a daredevil billionaire at the top of his game whose live is turned upside down when he becomes trapped inside the body of a newly acquired tomcat named Mr. Fuzzypants. 2016 Screen Actors Guild Awards Winners

The 22nd Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards announced their winners. The biggest surprise is Idris Elba, who won Best Supporting Actor for "Beasts of No Nation" and Best Actor in a TV Miniseries or Movie for "Luther". Elba has just become the first actor to win a Screen Actors Guild Award having not been nominated for an Oscar in the same category. Everything else was pretty much on schedule with wins for Leonardo DiCaprio, Brie Larson, Alicia Vikander, Kevin Spacey and Viola Davis, and "Spotlight", "Downton Abbey" and "Orange Is the New Black" scored ensemble awards.
