Tom Burke ("Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga", "Black Bag") and Eve Hewson ("The Perfect Couple", "Bad Sisters") are set to star in the upcoming new film from filmmaker Lenny Abrahamson ("Room", "Normal People"). The as-yet-untitled project is set within Dublin's Jewish community in the late 1970s.
The cast also includes newcomer Shane Meagher. Abrahamson reunites with long-term collaborators Element Pictures. Filming has begun in Dublin on March 2. Producers include Ed Guiney and Andrew Lowe of Element (a Fremantle company), Catherine Magee ("Normal People", "Small Things Like These"), and Abrahamson.
The production team includes production Designer Anna Rackard ("King Arthur", "Haywire"), director of photography Suzie Lavelle ("Normal People", "Severance"), editor Nathan Nugent (Room"), make up designer Sonia Dolan ("Arcadian", "The Siege of Jadotville"), composer Stephen Rennicks ("Room", "Frank"), costume designer Eimer ní Mhaoldomhnaigh ("The Banshees of Inisherin") and hair stylist Orla Carroll ("The Banshees of Inisherin").
The film is funded by Film4, High Frequency Entertainment, Screen Ireland and RTÉ. A24 has boarded as US distributor, Elevation Pictures as Canadian distributor and FilmNation Entertainment is representing international sales.
Hewson can next be seen in Steven Spielberg's sci-fi thriller "Disclosure Day", which opens in theaters in June.
