Bill Skarsgard ("It", "Nosferatu") is set to lead the new stealth action adventure game "Physint" from legendary Japanese video game designer, writer, and director Hideo Kojima. Kojima is best known for creating the groundbreaking "Metal Gear" franchise and the innovative "Death Stranding" series.
The game is the third original IP from Kojima Productions and has been described as the culmination of Kojima's 40-year career as a video game creator, using cutting-edge technology and a stellar cast to create a game experience like no other, with the aim of setting a new benchmark for the action-espionage genre. The cast also includes Charlee Fraser, Don Lee and Minami Hamabe.
The casting was revealed shortly after the news broke that the game would no longer be published by Kojima Productions' longtime partner PlayStation. Xbox was revealed as the game's new publisher in a statement which also mentioned that the expansion of their working relationship will "extend beyond games, with Xbox and Kojima Productions collaborating across film and television to bring new stories to broader audiences".
Kojima revealed Skarsgard's casting during the Xbox Tokyo Game Show 2026 Broadcast: "I'm delighted to confirm the lead role for 'Physint' will be Bill Skarsgard. We are both long-time fans of each other's work, and we've decided to embark on this new adventure together. The costume fittings, scans, and camera tests we conducted with Bill and Charlee earlier this year gave me tremendous confidence in the direction of the project". Kojima was already working with Xbox to publish "OD", which will release before "Physint". "OD" is a horror game made in collaboration with Jordan Peele, with a cast that features Sophia Lillis and Hunter Schafer.
Skarsgard is also set to star in Peter Bergs's WWII sports drama "The Mosquito Bowl", and Andrew Niccol's sequel "Lords of War" co-starring Nicolas Cage.
