Shay Mitchell Joins BAYWATCH Reboot Series
Shay Mitchell ("Pretty Little Liars") is the latest addition to the cast of Fox's "Baywatch" reboot/sequel series. Mitchell joins the cast in a series regular role as Trina, a former lawyer who walked away from a top-tier firm to dedicate herself to lifeguarding full-time. Trina is the sharpest mind on Baywatch. Passionate and dedicated, she tends to follow her heart...even if she often uses her considerable intelligence to second-guess herself.

The cast also includes Stephen Amell in the lead role alongside series regulars Jessica Belkin as Charlie Vale, Hassie Harrison as Nat, Thaddeus LaGrone as Brad, and Brooks Nader as Selene, the sharp-tongued Captain of the Zuma Beach lifeguards. David Chokachi, in a recurring role, returns as Cody Madison, from the original series, who now runs The Shoreline, the unofficially official Baywatch bar and grill.

The new "Baywatch" series is scheduled to launch as part of the network’s 2026-27 season and has received a 12-episode straight-to-series order. Production is slated to begin shooting this spring on Venice Beach and on the Fox Studio Lot in Century City. McG will direct the series premiere episode.

The story follows wild child Hobie Buchannon (Amell) from the original series, who is now a Baywatch Captain, following in the footsteps of his legendary father, Mitch (David Hasselhoff). Hobie's world is turned upside down when Charlie (Belkin), the daughter he never knew, shows up on his doorstep, eager to carry on the Buchannon family legacy and become a Baywatch lifeguard alongside her dad.

Fox has revealed that the show will feature "adrenaline-fueled rescues, tangled relationships, complicated chemistry and beachside heroics that defined the original — now with a new cast donning the show's signature red swimsuits, contemporary trappings, tensions and challenges and a renewed mission to protect Southern California's shoreline".

The "Baywatch" reboot is co-produced by Fox Entertainment and Fremantle with Nix ("Burn Notice", "The Gifted") serving as showrunner and executive producer alongside executive producers McG, Michael Berk, Greg Bonann, Doug Schwartz, Dante Di Loreto and Mike Horowitz. Fox Entertainment Global holds all domestic distribution rights, and Fremantle manages all international sales.

Hassie Harrison Joins BAYWATCH Reboot Cast
"Yellowstone" and "Dangerous Animals" actress Hassie Harrison has joined the cast of Fox's upcoming "Baywatch" reboot. The cast already includes Stephen Amell, Jessica Belkin, David Chokachi and Thaddeus LaGrone. Fox and producer Fremantle also recently held a day-long casting call to round out the cast.

Here is the official synopsis: "The wild child Hobie Buchannon we all loved from the original series is now a Baywatch captain, following in the footsteps of his legendary father, Mitch. Hobie's world is turned upside down when Charlie, the daughter he never knew, shows up on his doorstep, eager to carry on the Buchannon family legacy and become a Baywatch lifeguard alongside her dad. OG heartthrob Cody Madison now runs The Shoreline, the unofficially official Baywatch bar-and-grill, and still puts on the red trunks for the occasional shift saving lives. He's a mentor to and a friend, providing a second home for his fellow lifeguards… and always offering free wings after a big save."

The new "Baywatch" stars Amell as Hobie Buchannon, the son of original show's lead character Mitch Buchannon played by David Hasselhoff. Belkin plays Charlie Vale, Chokachi reprises his role from the original series, Cody Madison, and LaBrone will play Brad.

Harrison will play Nat, a former foster kid turned Olympic athlete. Nat is the gold standard when it comes to lifeguarding. Brilliant, driven, and fiercely loyal, she's Hobie's right hand and closest friend. Nat holds everyone to the same high standards she has for herself, which sometimes gets in the way of her relationships on and off the beach.

"Baywatch" was picked up for the 2026-2027 broadcast season by Fox with a 12-episode order. Matt Nix is the showrunner and an executive producer alongside McG, Michael Berk, Greg Bonann, Doug Schwartz, Dante Di Loreto and Mike Horowitz. McG will also direct the series premiere episode. The series is co-produced by Fox Entertainment and Fremantle. Fox Entertainment Global holds domestic distribution rights and Fremantle manages international sales.

Harrison's upcoming films include the modern Western thriller "The Rescue", the neo-noir "Deep Eddy" and the thriller "Raven".
