Cate Blanchett And Selena Gomez To Star In Brady Corbets New X Rated Film

Two-time Oscar winner Cate Blanchett and Golden Globe nominee Selena Gomez will star in the new film from "The Brutalist" director Brady Corbet. This will be the filmmaker's fourth feature. The cast also includes Michael Fassbender. The script is penned by Corbet, who recently said is 200 pages long, which means the movie will have a running time of around four hours, considering the script for his three-and-a-half hours epic "The Brutalist" was 165 pages long.

Plot details are being kept under wraps, but Corbet has revealed that he was looking to make an "X-rated" film set in the 1970s that will span from the 19th century into the present day. He described it as being "really, really genre-defying". The film will focus on American mysticism and the history of the occult. Corbet is collaborating with occult historian Mitch Horowitz. It will also explore immigration from China to California.

The film will be produced by Andrew Morrison for his Kaplan Morrison production banner. Principal photography is planned for this summer, with a 50-day shoot in Portugal and South Africa using very rare eight-perf 65mm cameras. No distributor is attached yet.
