Brendan Fraser to Star Opposite Andrew Scott in World War II D-Day Thriller PRESSURE
Oscar winner Brendan Fraser ("The Whale") has signed on to star as Supreme Allied Commander Dwight D. Eisenhower in the upcoming historical thriller "Pressure" from Working Title and Studiocanal. The film will be directed by Anthony Maras ("Hotel Mumbai") from a script co-written by Maras and David Haig, based on Haig's own play. Production is expected to begin in the UK this September.

THe film chronicles the true story of Britain's Chief Meteorological Officer James Stagg, played in the movie by BAFTA winner Andrew Scott ("Ripley", "All of Us Strangers"), whose job it was to inform Eisenhower of weather conditions that would make or break their Normandy invasion. The complex decision-making was critical in the fate of the war and the course of history.

Here is the play's official synopsis:
"In the 72 hours leading up to D-Day, all the pieces are in place except for one key element — the British weather. Britain’s Chief Meteorological Officer James Stagg is called upon to deliver the most consequential forecast in history, locking him into a tense standoff with the entire Allied leadership. The wrong conditions could devastate the largest-ever seaborne invasion, while any delay risks German intelligence catching on. With only his trusted aide Captain Kay Summersby to confide in, and haunted by a catastrophic D-Day rehearsal, the final decision rests with Supreme Allied Commander Dwight D. Eisenhower. With only hours to go, the fate of the war and the lives of millions hang in the balance."

Andrew Scott Picture

After previously announcing the return of Daniel Craig, and the addition of newcomers Josh O'Connor and Cailee Spaeny, we have a new name joining the cast of the third "Knives Out" movie.

Andrew Scott ("Ripley", "Fleabag") has signed on to join the epic ensemble cast of the new installment titled "Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery". Craig will reprise his role as quirky sleuth, Benoit Blanc, and although plot details are being kept under wraps, the film has been described as Blanc's most dangerous case yet.

Franchise filmmaker Rian Johnson is writing and directing the third "Knives Out" installment. He's also producing with his T-Street partner Ram Bergman, who worked on the first two films.

"Wake Up Dead Man" is expected to soon go into production and will be released in 2025. No word on whether it's going to be a Netflix exclusive like "Glass Onion", or a theatrical release like the first film. Johnson wrote the following on social media:
"I love everything about whodunits, but one of the things I love most is how malleable the genre is. There’s a whole tonal spectrum from Carr to Christie, and getting to explore that range is one of the most exciting things about making Benoit Blanc movies."

Victor Frankenstein Movie Clips, Featurette, Images and Posters

Since reimaginings are so popular in Hollywood these days, I guess it was only a matter of time until Mary Shelley's classic story would have received the same treatment. And here it is, "Victor Frankenstein" is now in theaters.

20th Century Fox has released two clips, a featurette, a batch of ten new images and two posters to convince you to go watch their movie. The critics, however, would urge you to reconsider. The film has been hammered with bad reviews. Despite the solid efforts of James McAvoy and Daniel Radcliffe, director Paul McGuigan ("Sherlock") and screenwriter Max Landis ("Chronicle") offer an unnecessary reinvention that lacks soul and intelligence.

The film also stars Jessica Brown Findlay, Andrew Scott, Bronson Webb, Daniel Mays and Freddie Fox.
